The Department of American Studies and Maryland Traditions present a talk by Christopher K. Morgan, who brings over 20 years of international experience and high artistic acclaim to his leadership roles as Artistic & Executive Director of CKM&A, as Director of the Dance Omi International Dance Collective, and as the newly appointed Executive Artistic Director of Dance Place in Washington D.C.

Morgan’s Native Hawaiian ancestry and a diverse, international modern dance career that moved him from where he grew up in Orange County, CA to San Diego, Munich, New York, London, Dublin and now our nation’s capitol influence his work as an administrator, choreographer, educator, facilitator, curator and performer. His choreography has been presented in 18 countries on 5 continents and has addressed issues including sexuality, gender identity, race, climate change, immigration and water conservation.

Plan Your Visit

UMBC is located about 10 minutes south of the Inner Harbor along I-95. For this event, paid visitor parking is the Walker Garage, adjacent to the Library.
